How to get to the island

You can easily reach this lovely island from Athens, since there are regular ferry routes from its port Piraeus (the chief sea port of Athens) as well from its port Lavrio (third-largest passenger port in Athens).

The duration of your trip will depend on the ship you will choose for your trip but on average you will need four to seven hours to reach the island.

You can also get to the island from Milos, the closest island to Kimolos. From its port (Apollonia) you can find yourself in the port of Kimolos (Psathi), traveling only for 20 minutes!

The closest airport is Milos Island National Airport, which receives flights only from Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” several times per week and the duration of the trip is about 45 minutes. Upon your arrival in Milos you can take the ferry to Kimolos and be there within 20 minutes.
